Dream High 2: Episode 8 (Recap?)

Episode Eight (confession tiiimmeee!!):
Last episode ended with some hurt feelings between JB and Rian along with hinting that Yoo Jin is to be chosen as the next super idol. The kids (the lower class ones/ Hae-Sung’s “friends”) are still moping about, but their teacher is now determined to make things work having been responsible for Hae-Sung leaving. With that the students gain some new motivation and the hard work truly begins…or something similar to that, I watched this last week and I only remember the main points…Meanwhile JB decides to visit Hae-sung, even admitting that he likes her. When he gets there he meets her little sister (remind you of anyone else’s little sister?) and embarrasses himself. Anyhow the sister goes in cahoots with him and suggests to her father that he stay the night. He agrees, which makes little sense given he is a preacher and he seemed pretty conservative up to this point. But I am not one to quarrel with silly reasons to get two people together. That night Hae-Sung is at a church and JB finds her there. They talk some and JB begins to tell her how he feels but is unable to do so, fortunately due to the miraculous effect of wine (which I think is the communion?) he is able to sputter out that he likes her. She doesn’t take him seriously though (typical). As JB sits down next to her she dozes off and he goes on to sing (insert small montage).  Oh yeah, somewhere around this time frame it is discovered that JB knows her because their parents died around the same time. I think this was already told but I skipped it the first time around, making it new information. All the while Yoo Jin has learned that JB went to see her and of course he does NOTHING, okay he does mope around a bit but that hardly counts. This is what I hate about love triangles or squares, the writers are so caught up on making us believe that the main character and the other guy/girl could be a plausible couple that they forget to put effort in the main one. In this case I see a JB/Hae-Sung future and not a JB/Yoo Jin thing. Think back to Boys Over Flowers where the main girl liked two guys and she ended up choosing Joon Pyo (the main lead) despite having numerous romantic scenes with Ji Hoo. It ANNOYS me… The following day JB agrees to take Hae-Sung and her sister to a pageant for the sister and two are in good spirits. Back at school Rian is having troubles with her nagging mom (another tool that I hate being used), who demands that Rian is given some jobs. The boss, Lee Kang-Chul, agrees but with a face that is not pleased. Rian apologizes. Sometime later she is told by Kang-Chul of a solo gig and she heads out to perform. By “coincidence” (though nothing in this drama is a coincidence) Yoo Jin is heading out to the same direction. When Rian arrives to her designated location it is discovered that it is where the pageant is to be held (though she knows nothing of JB or Hae-Sung’s presence). To her dismay she learns that she is to perform in a cat costume and though she tries to refuse she learns that her mom was already paid (damn parents…). During this time Yoo Jin discovers that Hae-Sung is at the pageant and heads on over. When Rian gets up to perform she is nerve struck and gets negative comments (boos), but nobody knows her identity at this point because she has on a mask. Just as Yoo Jin arrives Rian gets hit by a soccer ball, faints and everyone learns who she is. DUN DUN DUNNNN!!!
